Description
general research area:
The
members of this team have been involved
for more than fifteen years in research
work on the mechanics of crystalline solids
by means of nonlinear elasticity, with special
focus on phase transitions and defects in
both simple and complex lattices. They have
given established contributions to the subject
and are currently actively pursuing the
scientific objectives of the network. Their
research appears in leading journals in
the field. They have collaborated and are
currently collaborating with researchers
working in Europe as well as in the USA.
|
Description
particular research topics for MULTIMAT:
In
the framework of the RTN project the focus
will be on:
Clarification of multilattice symmetry and
kinematics
Relation of the arithmetic classification
criterion to other criteria of crystal-structure
enumeration
Determination of the constitutive functions
suitable for specific materials undergoing
phase transformations
New tools and concepts for the modeling
and mathematical analysis of multiscale
problems in phase transformations. |
