    Writing development and knowledge crafting
In cooperation with: Eva Lindgren (Umea university, Sweden), Luuk Van Waes
    Period: 2008-present
This project explores the notion of writing development as a gradual process from a knowledge telling, through a knowledge transforming into a knowledge crafting stage. Awareness of the reader during writing is assumed a crucial aspect of successful writing and maturation. The aim of the present study is to examine how writers' awareness of reader relates to the way in which they adapt their texts towards the reader. Therefore, this study investigates how writers on different levels perform the same writing tasks. The analysis focuses on 'the reader'. Several methodological approaches have been used in a case-study setting. Data from writers' own statements, their writing processes, and their final texts have been triangulated in order to provide an in depth analysis of how their awareness of the reader corresponds with their adaptation to the reader during writing.
