We are organizing the Metaheuristics Stream of the forthcoming EURO-INFORMS conference in Rome, July 1-4, 2013.

New book "Memory Allocation Problems in Embedded Systems: Optimization Methods"

 The OR-Group at the University of South-Brittany (Lorient, France) is happy to announce the publication of its last book based on Maria Soto's PhD work and a strong collaboration with Dr. Johann Laurent. This book presents some optimization methods applied to the memory allocation problem and their integration in SoftExplorer a computer software for helping architecture designers initially developed in the Lab-STICC. The book is published by ISTE-Wiley and is available here.

European Spring School on Vehicle Routing - VRP2013

We are glad to invite EU/ME members to join us in Angers (France) next spring for VRP2013, a one-week, full-immersion institute gathering Ph.D. students and young researchers working on the field of vehicle routing. The spring school will be hosted by the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IMA) of Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers (France) from May 20 to May 24, 2013. EU/ME will sponsor one or two students, with a financial support of 1000€.

The Brittany region (France), with the support of Google has granted the OR-Group with a financial support of 12 months for a postdoc position. The position will be open on January 2013. The general topic of this postdoc position concerns the optimization applied to the transportation of handicapped persons. The position is open to work in the research center of the OR-Group in Lorient (France).
